It gives a stark white clear light, when horizontal about 35cm above desk.Lamp colour is neutral off white. Large stable weighty base. Box says Colour Rendering Index 80 Kelvin 6500 tube life target up to 8000 hours tube type PL27QBX4PC flood like effect FML 27w. Somewhere I read that this is the equivalent of the old 150w bulb, but that may be an exaggerationWe are pleased with this lamp and have just ordered two more.
