   This is my third lantern having purchased the first two some 5 years ago. I am pleased to report the other two still look almost new. The lanterns are made of a very high grade plastic which might be off putting to some but does not detract from the look or operation. My only criticism, and reason for four not five stars is the lid is secured by two small soft metal screws which over time do become corroded and I recently had to drill them out when the cross head just mangled whilst attempting to remove them. Ive replaced them with a larger diameter which should be strong enough to not succumb to being removed in future. Good, but not great, German engineering

   some minor quality problems as the glass was not a good fit, had to grind the edges to adjust. Fortunately I have a workshop and can do this, others would have had to return 2 of the 4 I bought
