I was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews, particularly regarding the remote. I hope Im not jinxing myself but so far, the remote is still working a week later. The light was bought for my 7 year old son who is a gaming boy and he absolutely loves this. He doesnt play with the remote and we use it primarily to switch the light onoff ever night or to adjust the light brightness. The sounds are awesome and no issue to hear when you first switch it on, its part and parcel with the light so cant be annoyed by it. Definitely retro and the ambience created by the soft glow is awesome. We love it and now want to get the ghost lights from Pacman.
