I use them to photograph coins and jewelry for auction catalog pictures. Dimming capability helps for this application. For the price and using them with other equipment they work quite well. One annoyance, there is no retainer to stop filters from falling out.

Philips Hue is really the iPhone of the electronically controlled lights world. I have a couple of Osram lights, which are fine, but lack the refinement, and four Ikea lights, one of which ceased to be controllable after about a year. Ive had to reset the Ikea lights four times so far. Ive also tried some offbrand lights. But Ive kept on coming back to Hue since I got my first pair from the Apple shop in Solihull back in 2013. Apart from one light that got broken, all fo my Hue lights are still responding and still working just as well as the day I got them.This striplight is the last of the Hue lights Ive tried. I always assumed it was a bit of a gimmick, as Ive seen these kinds of lights providing underwhelming lighting in all kinds of contexts. But these are surprisingly powerful, although the colour purity is not quite as exact as the other typesyou get a very faint triple shadow nearby.These are more than bright enough to be the sole lighting in a room. In fact, in many rooms, at full strength, they will be too strong. This opens up many possibilities for video lighting because, as expensive as Hue is, it isnt a patch on colouradjustable commercial video lights. Four sets of these on the top, bottom and sides of a Green Screen is probably going to give more even lighting than anything else, without big column lights, and without the same level of expense.

I bought a Corsair Obsidian 500d RGB case that came with 3 of their RGB fans and the Commander Pro. So, I ended up buying into their whole RGB ecosystem, and I gotta say, I am not disappointed These LED lights hook right into the Lighting Node Pro that came with my case, which hooks into the commander pro, and they work perfectly with the iCUE software. Each LED is individually addressable and they certainly brighten up my build The strips are magnetic, but the magnets are pretty weak. However, it also has 3m adhesive in addition to the magnets, so mounting shouldnt be an issue. I even put a strip in the back to light up my wiring job which I am super proud of because this is my first build. I included some pictures so that you can see how it turned out.
