Having had little success with solar powered lights around our hot tub I guess the location is too shady, I decided on battery power. Theyre only on for 12 hours, 67 times per month so battery life shouldnt be a problem. I did, however, look for a set taking AA batteries because these last much longer than AAA. Several other sets I looked at were AAA which would be more costly to run. Only used them once but they seem good. I dont need the remote you can cycle them through the different phases using the onoff switch on the battery box. For maximum relaxation I would recommend permanently on or slow fade up and down. Havent had them long enough to really judge battery life so Ill try to come back to this review after a month or two.29 December 2018 Update the first set of batteries have been lasting well something like 6 x 2 hour sessions in the hot tub up to yesterday. Then, last night I forgot to turn them off, and theyre still going strong this morning. So, my conclusion is that you shoud expect to get at least 20 hours out of a set of AA batteries Im using the batteries from a well known Scandinavian flatpack furniture supplier. I use the lights in always on mode, so I guess if you like them flashing youd get even longer. I think this is very good for batterypowered lights.

Ive had them 23 weeks still cant stop looking at them how impressive they look, Im very wary about putting them outside in the front just in case they get pinched so in the back garden they stay, my son thought the garden was on fire, thats how impressive they are, I am difficult to please, but youve obviously done it. many thanks for a really impressive product is there any chance of fixing them so they cant be nicked theyd look even more impressive out the front.
