The light stand that I use is nothing special and the spigot that is on the top of it is just standard. I dont know why but it was very difficult to get it on and be sturdy, in the end, I managed to get it on.I use this to attach my boom pole to light stand using a boom pole holder, it has a good grip on the boom pole holder but Im not sure how long it is going to last.Something that annoyed me was on the side where it goes onto the light stand there are 2 holes and around the second hole there are lots of marks and it looks like when they were machining it there was a problem. Nothing a piece of gaff tape cant fixOverall I would recommend this item it probably should be cheaper but I am not sure how long it will last
