I would find it hard to understand anyone not liking these lights, they are unusual and bring a life to the garden that you wont get with other white coloured or lights that change colour. These flame effect lights are very realistic and at night you have to get quite close before you realise just what you are looking at. Mine sit by some fir trees to mark the edge of a path and for that they are perfect, offering a dim light to lighten the darkness but you cant see a long way as the light it ambient more than directional.Turn off the unit button just below the torch and let them charge for a day when you first get them. I left mine for a day before I turned them back on and even with overcast days they still last all night.As a bonus you can use the solar panel to hold your cup during the day as you work in the garden
