I considered this to be quite expensive but you do get what you pay for. On speeds 1 2 it is silent. The only time you get a slight noise is on speed 3 but that is from the blades moving through the air. At speed 3 it will blow the newspaper off the coffee table.Installation instructions are good. You fix the mounting bracket make sure you use decent screws going into a ceiling joist. This is a heavy bit of kit. You then connect the wiring to the terminal block on the bracket. After some more assembly you lift the motor unit onto the bracket and connect the prefitted plugs. Theres no balancing it on your shoulder while you try to wire it in.The only trouble I had was aligning the screws for the fan blades but I got the hang of it in the end.I would have preferred lighter coloured fan blades. They are quite dark but thats just a personal preference.The remote control works well. Fan speeds 1 2 3 and off of course. Light on off and a dimmer. My wife is disabled and loves the fact she can control it from her armchair while watching horse racing on TV.Its still new to us so Ill update if we get any problems.
