As these bulbs were advertised with the bluetooth functionality, I had hoped that I would be able to use them without the hub. Unfortunately, the bluetooth does not work unless u are directly underneath the bulb It became a unless feature. I ended up having to fork out for the hub.In addition set up was painful.Having said that with the hub, the bulbs are reliable. Fits well. I love the ability to dim and change the white. Works well with google and alexa.
