   Had this tripod lamp base for a few months now and it is still looking great, no problems with it what so ever. It doesnt come with a shade but I feel you can make this more suitable for your home by choosing your own. Even with buying your own shade considered it is still better value for money than most other tripod lamps. We have a smart bulb in ours so I cant really comment on the switch, but it is just a standard lamp switch. The legs are adjustable which is perfect for choosing your height or making sure it stands straight on an uneven floor
