This is fantastic for any room to add subtle lights. It also has a star mode too so would be suitable for childrens rooms to help them sleep at night. It reflects onto the ceiling and wall really well and is nice and bright. It is not a large piece of equipment so does not take up a lot of space and the cable length is a generous size too.

We have two of these lamps, one black, one white which we purchased direct from Ikea where they are currently priced at 12. If you are within striking distance of an Ikea you may wish to save yourself a few and the waiting in for a delivery pounds by buying direct. They assemble very easily and are pretty sturdy. The shades arent glass and the lamps are built to a price. We have one in a snug and the other in a study, both of which have low ceilings and small windows so that they are quite dark the uplighter really helps to bounce light around, whilst the flexible lamp is good for lighting the desk or providing light to read by. Despite the price, they are sturdy and wont fall over. We bought the first lamp about five years ago, and the second probably two or three years ago they get regular use and, apart from occasionally changing a bulb, they have been fine. They arent smart enough for a sitting room, in my opinion, but for a study or childrens room they are perfectly adequate.
